Closures

Its been one helluva journey these past 6 years, and our prelims are just 8 weeks away.
8 weeks = 2 months = 1/6 year
Just look at the fractions. If that doesn't scare you, nothing will.
We started out on this together, filled with optimism and hope for the future.
Some lucky few are in their niche, while others struggle to find their pasture.
Whatever the case, no one is here by chance.
The end is near. The sense of impending doom beginning to creep into us. No one can fully understand just how important the As are to us, except ourselves. I'm sure we all have a final goal in mind.
The race is ending. Finish it. One last breath, one last drop of sweat. We will push through with our hearts ablaze and with song on our lips. 12 years of toiling and cursing is soon coming to an end guys. Let us cherish the moment and act now, for our time is now. This is the end, this is the exam, close it properly.

Block Test 2
The SJI-SAJC Academic Team would like to wish the best of luck to the whole SJI-SAJC Community for the upcoming Block Test 2 in June 2007.
Nevertheless, if there are among you those who did not do well (like me), this is what Paul Coelho, decorated author of books like The Gift and Like the Flowing River, has to say about failure and defeats -
Nevertheless, if there are among you those who did not do well (like me), this is what Paul Coelho, decorated author of books like The Gift and Like the Flowing River, has to say about failure and defeats -
But there is suffering in life, and there are defeats. No one can avoid them. But it's better to lose some of the battles in the struggles for your dreams than to be defeated without ever knowing what you're fighting for.

PW... and AP! (not arithmetic progression)
Very often, to downplay the impact of our abysmal grades for Project Work on our university application, JCs cite the fact that universities would not penalise students who have done well in the A Levels but did not achieve a good grade for Project Work. However, the air has been cleared on the issue, and if you have been reading the Straits Times Forum over the past two weeks, there has been many issues and concerns raised about university admissions and how Project Work has an impact on it. I quote the NUS Dean of Admissions on this issue in a letter sent in to Straits Times on the 7 June 2007 that "Because of components such as General Paper and Project Work in the UAS, it is possible that a student with three As may not be admitted to a course of study while another with two As and a B may because of different performance levels in General Paper and Project Work." So now the air has been cleared about the issue, we all know how much harder we have to push ourselves to ensure that we do not penalise ourselves further in our aim to gain a spot in a reputable university in Singapore.
